Leonardo, located right in the heart of Leeds is rich with history and beautifully designed. The best bit: this historic building is now a state-of-the-art modernised one featuring a brand-new kitchens, bathrooms and fittings as well as a gym, study rooms and outstanding communal spaces.

The building is made up of three parts, the first of which, “Leonardo” is a Grade II listed Victorian building retaining its original features such as columns, tiled walls and high ceilings with views spanning the city. The second building goes by the name of “Thoresby”, a sensitively refurbished office block maintaining original features with a modern twist paired with views of the city and Millennium Square. The most recent addition to the complex, the “Spark” block is a relaxing, modern oasis.

For part of the 2024/25 academic year, we’ll be carrying out essential works to the external façade of this property, between 8am-6pm Monday to Friday. Although we will do all we can to mitigate this, there may be some noise disruption during working hours. We will communicate notice of these works ahead of them starting and update you throughout. Our residence team will also be on hand for face to face conversations during.

It’s important to know we’re always here for you. Moving away from home to start a new one at university can be daunting – especially when you’re moving country, too. That’s why our Residence Team are around 24/7 for any help, support and guidance you might need.

Transport Links

As we’ve mentioned already, almost everything you could need is within walking distance – including lectures. One of the Leeds Arts University buildings is next door (literally) and The University of Leeds, Leeds Beckett and Leeds Teaching Hospital are all a 10-minute walk. For everything else, transport links are right on your doorstep. Leeds Train station is a short walk away and buses are frequent and fast.

Unless residents have paid for a car park space via a separate agreement, they are not permitted to park at the Building. Any unauthorised vehicles may be clamped, which may require payment of a release fee to the 3rd Party managing the car park.

Neither residents nor visitors are permitted to bring private vehicles onto the property except:

1) at the beginning and end of term times (of the higher education providers servicing the occupants/lessees),

2) where private motor vehicles are brought onto the Property by registered disabled occupiers; and

3) for commercial vehicles using the service area comprising part of the Property for managing and servicing the Property and adjacent premises.
