When it comes to private halls in Glasgow, it’s unsurprising Base is the first choice for students. Everything you need to live your best student life is on your doorstep – literally. You can walk to The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Glasgow Caledonian, and The Glasgow School of Art all in less than 5 minutes. And just a short bus ride away is University of Strathclyde and University of Glasgow.

Although Glasgow is full of things to do day and night, students often love spending their time together – and on their own – in the comfort of their halls. You can catch a movie, have a gym workout, dance, make music, and even enjoy a drink on a rooftop terrace – all without leaving Base.

Community Spirit

It’s rare for someone to leave their time at uni without making friends for life – and this is especially the case at Base. With communal spaces around the grounds, shared apartments, and regular social events there are plenty of opportunities for people to spend time together. And what our students love about this is, everything is optional. You can socialise as and when you want, and when you don’t want to, you have a spacious room with study spots and quiet getaways to relax in.

Constant Support

If you’re feeling nervous about moving away from home, don’t worry, it’s only natural. We know it can be a scary time, and that’s why we have our Residence Team on site 24/7. If you ever need support or guidance, they’ll be there to help you.

Transport Links

There are so many ways to get around Glasgow. Right outside Base you can get regular buses to all parts of the city. Just a 2-minute walk away is Cowcaddens subway station, which does a big loop of the city. The two main train stations are in walking distance too: Glasgow Central, 15 minutes, and Queen Street, 10 minutes. Glasgow Airport is also only a 15-minute drive – ideal for weekend getaways and summer holidays.

Unless residents have paid for a car park space via a separate agreement, they are not permitted to park at the Building. Any unauthorised vehicles may be clamped, which may require payment of a release fee to the 3rd Party managing the car park.

Neither residents nor visitors are permitted to bring private vehicles onto the property except:

1) at the beginning and end of term times (of the higher education providers servicing the occupants/lessees),

2) where private motor vehicles are brought onto the Property by registered disabled occupiers; and

3) for commercial vehicles using the service area comprising part of the Property for managing and servicing the Property and adjacent premises.
